We are heading into the last week before the break and there are some items to keep in your minds.....
SPECIAL EVENTS
*Wednesday, December 19th PAC meeting @ 6:30pm
*Friday, December 21st, last day of school for two weeks.
*Monday, January 7th, 2013, school reopens
*Monday, January 7th, 2013 those students going to Harper Mountain February 20, 21, 28 will receive a four page package of information.  The last two pages must be completed and returned to school  with the fee by Friday, January 11th. 

LANGUAGE ARTS

SPELLING will not take place this week.  However, we will be working on grammar which will replace spelling.  

MATH  
We will be continue to focus on multiplication concepts for this week.      

PE

Over two years ago Ms. Lane put forth our school's name to an organization that gives us the use of wheel chairs as a means for understanding more about the challenges facing those with mobility issues.  This week we will be playing wheel chair basketball.  I know that it will be challenging but fun!

SPECIAL EVENTS*CHRISTMAS CONCERT DRESS REHEARSAL: Wednesday, December 12th (Please bring your green shirt on Tuesday and keep it at school as you will need it for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
*CHRISTMAS CONCERT WHOLE SCHOOL: December 12-This is the day when we will perform as well as watch our classmates.  'Santa Goes Green' will be great!

*CHRISTMAS CONCERT PERFORMANCE: Thursday, December 13th @ 10:30am and 1:00pm (wear your green shirt and black pants).

*STUDENT COUNCIL: Serving lunch, singing Christmas carols,  and making a donation on behalf of all Parkcrest students at the New Life Mission, Wednesday, December 12th or Friday, December 14th (students will attend one or the other).

*FAMILY MATH: Wednesday, December 12th, 6:45-7:45pm is the third session of Family Math with Mr. Fridriksson.  Everyone is welcome.  You do not have to have attended the other sessions.  Parents and students are really learning a lot!

LANGUAGE ARTS
Spelling: This week with Unit 12, students will work on one section a day until they are completed by Friday.

MATH
Some concepts for math will continue for this week and new for example students are learning how to: 
1.  draw an array.
2.  multiply a 3 digit number by 1 digit.  Eg.  4 x 273 = ___
3.  read and complete a word problem.
The next quiz will be on the above concepts...if everything goes well the quiz could be as early as next week!

    This week will see our class practising our Christmas song with Ms. Ellingsen's class.  Also, I wanted to remind you that students are to wear a green shirt & black pants (girls can wear a green dress) on performance day December 13.  Our song is "We're Going Green" is coming together...parents can come out and see our concert!   Hard to believe it is December already!   Family math night will take place on December 5th and the 12th from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 pm...it is a great way to learn math as a family!
