Welcome to June! Hard to believe that we are weeks away from the end of the year. I am so proud of how hard everyone has worked in Kindergarten/Grade 1. It will be hard to say goodbye.
I would like to thank parents for their help during our two field trips!  We are continuing with addition and subtraction up to 10.  New sight words and home reading are continuing this week.  Sight words are the days of the week.

This week:
Monday, June 9-New sight words & Big Buddies
Tuesday, June 10-computers
Wednesday, June 11-Return library books & Gym Day
Thursday, June 12-Library Day & Gym Day
Friday, June 13-No School

We have been practicing our addition and subtraction to 10 and we are continuing with 3-dimensional objects this week.  Our seeds are not progressing the way I would like...so hopefully this will change so students can bring their plants home once they are ready.  Expect some projects to make to home.  Health and Career unit is on personal safety and this will continue this week.  Wild life park and police station trips are coming soon...and it looks like I have 6 parent volunteers...GREAT!  New sight words and home reading are continuing this week.
   Wild life Field Trip
On Wednesday, June 4th, we will be going to the Wild life park by bus with the Mrs. Beatty's Kindergarten class. Please note that the field trip will be a full day. Parents will have their group of students for the day.
FOOD: Please provide your child with a large healthy snack, A LUNCH AND A
BOTTLE OF WATER for that day. All of these items should be in a
backpack that your child will carry throughout the day.
BACKPACKS: Please remember that your child will be carrying his/her backpack
all day. Try to pack as lightly as possible (sandwiches are much easier to
carry than apples and oranges).

CLOTHING: Also, I am asking parents to ensure that their child is appropriately
dressed for this field trip, including running shoes, hat, no dresses/skirts, and a coat/pullover.  We are going rain or shine, so please consider the weather that morning when your child is getting dressed. Please apply and send extra sunscreen (small bottle).

PARENT HELPERS: Parents are encouraged to join us on the bus. Due to the
high risk environment and the nature of this trip, preschoolers are NOT
allowed to accompany us on this trip.
If there are not enough seats on the bus PARENT HELPERS can also car pool up to the Wild life park.
This week:
Monday, June 2-New sight words & Big Buddies
Tuesday, June 3-Computers
Wednesday, June 4-Return library books & Wild life park field trip
Thursday, June 5-
Friday, June 6- Police Station field trip
