In Class this Week...
We will review the times table....and continue with Geometry unit in Math...there will be a new spelling unit 12 this week.  In Social Studies students are working on indigenous  people research project.  In Science...landform unit will continue.  
Please continue with the reading logs for March.  Due are the reading logs for February this week.  There will be a refund for the snowshoeing/cross country skiing field trip that was canceled.

Library books are due on Thursday every week. There are still students who are not bringing in their books.  Please make sure your child is bringing books back!

     We still have a few students who don't bring in their library books on Thursday so please make sure your child has their books in their backpacks so they can return the books and exchange them for new books to read for the week.

I would like to mention that money for the Stake Lake will be used for future field trip.
Please make sure you child has proper clothing for the weather as well as bringing indoor shoes for gym and walking in the school.  

Please remember that your child can eat their healthy snacks all day so make sure you put enough healthy snacks into their lunches.  Also, students can bring in water bottles...and drink water to quench their thirst.

     Reading logs will be out on Monday for the month of February...please make sure your child has the log sheet filled out.  January reading log sheets are due so please make sure your child hands it in. 
In Social Studies your child is doing a research project on indigenous group..  This is a group project.  In Science, we are now moving to landform unit.
 
     Library Books-Library day is Thursday
     Library books must be returned to our class by  Wednesday or Thursday morning!  If your child is done with his/her books early, please return them at that time. Let’s work hard to prevent overdue books this year!

Our Field trip to Stake Lake has been cancelled due to lack of snow!
 Our field trip to Stake Lake (February 9th) will be confirmed or cancelled by Thursday. One way or another we will know if we are going or not!

    A reminder that we do have snowshoeing and cross country permission slip out. Please get those in as soon as possible.  If you would like to volunteer please note we can only bring 2 parent volunteers.  I need students shoe size and height.    
    This week we have spelling...please check and make sure your son/daughter are bringing the spelling work back by Friday.  Please sign the spelling quiz if your child got a low result (4 or less) & return the quiz back to me. Thank you.

    In Language Arts we will continue with short stories and continue developing comprehension skills.  Please continue to do the Reading at home and recording what your child is reading in the reading log sheet.  There will be a new spelling unit this week. 
  
Library Days are Fridays so please have your child return books on Thursday or Friday morning.

   I would like students to wear indoor shoes at school and boots out at the breaks.  Please make sure your son/daughter are wearing appropriate clothing for the weather!  Your child's locker must not be full of other clothes so if you have time please make sure your child takes home the extra clothes in their locker.

Winter Concert-December 16th & 18th performances at 1:15 p.m. Please check the school website of what day your suppose to come out.

     In Science we will be begin Matter unit. Reading log sheets are out for December so remember students can read all kinds of books (can be information books as long as they can read it!).  Parents please make sure your child records the readings. 
Please get the interim reports signed and returned back to me ASAP.  

Winter-Concert-Winter Concert dates are Tuesday December 16th and Thursday December 18th at 1:15pm.  Families A-K Tuesday, Families L-Z Thursday.  Admission is free, doors open 12:45. 


Library Day is on Fridays so bring in library books by Thursday!  Once again please make sure your child has indoor shoes to wear in the classroom.  Boots are not allowed in the classroom.

In Language Arts, students will be working on comprehension and writing skills until the winter break. 
We will be working on our concert song as well!  There will be no spelling unit this week but please continue with the home reading and fill in the log sheet.  November reading log sheet due Tuesday, December 2rd.  
Interim reports please sign and have your child return the interim report.
In Science the eco-system unit will continue and wrap up near winter break.
