This week will be short for students as we continue to roll along through April students will not be getting a new unit of spelling this week. Students will continue to work on short stories and poems in Language Arts.
In Social Studies students are working on their family tree and learning about how family works in the first nation cultures.  Reminder that the family tree is due on April 30th as well as a dish from student's cultural background.
Science will see students working on Matter....in Math, students will continue with fractions and then move forward to 3-D objects.

Show & Tell Theme: Something I am Good At
For our next round of Show & Tell, we will be sharing something that we are good at. This is a great opportunity for your child to bring in pictures, a trophy, ribbons, medals, etc. pertaining to ONE activity that they excel in. Your son/daughter may also choose to do a demonstration, if applicable. This can also be a picture or craft that your child has made (if that is his talent). Maybe he can share about a club he/she belongs to. The goal of this Show & Tell is for us to see how different we all are, and that everyone is good at something. If you need help figuring out what to share, please let me know. Thanks.

Our schedule this week:
Monday, April 23- No School (Professional Development Day)
Tuesday, April 24-Fine Arts
Wednesday, April 25- Return library books (Library Day)
Thursday, April 26-Fine Arts & P.E. Day

I hope everyone had a good weekend....on Monday we will have new spelling unit #19...on April 23rd there is a professional development day so there will be no school.  This week will be another busy week for our class.  We continue with matter in Science and continue with Shuswap families and hopefully students are progressing towards having their family tree project put together...please remember to have your child's Library books in by Wednesday so your child can books to read for the week.
I would like parents to make sure your child has enough food in their lunch because as the days get warmer children become more active.  This includes activities that we as a class are doing outside...also water bottles are allowed in the classroom instead of juice boxes.

This week will be another short busy week for students as we roll into April. Students are starting a new math fraction unit and in Social Studies students are learning about the Shuswap Peoples as well as investigating their own cultural family tree.
There will be no spelling unit this week.
In Science we are starting with two different units this term....Matter and Force are the two units that we are covering.
In Language Arts students are learning what is a "thick" question and "I wonder" concept...this is an important skill to have when thinking outside of the box....should be exciting to see some thinking!
