Well it is hard to believe that we are almost done October! Here are a few upcoming events that our class are involved with:

Our class will be skating at Brock Arena and there will be three sessions...dates will soon be coming...a short notice will go home with the students.

October 21-Update!
The pumpkin carving will take place on October 25th after recess.  Our class will have our Big Buddies joining us. I am reminding you that our school did not receive enough pumpkins for each student so if you would like to bring a pumpkin please let me know.  Parent helpers can bring carving tools as well as a large wooden spoon. If we are not able to complete the pumpkin carving after recess we will continue after lunch.  

A date to remember...
I am currently arranging for our class to take part in the PUMPKINS of LIGHT event at Gardengate. My guess is we'll be carving pumpkins on Tuesday, October 25th between recess and lunch. I'll need many parent helpers! Watch for the sign-up sheet outside my door once everything is confirmed. 

Dear Parents,

We have an exciting week ahead. Today we went to Ish da Fish concert at the Sagebrush Theatre.

This Thursday and Friday (October 6 and 7) are Early Dismissal days for Parent-Teacher Interviews (please pick up your child at 12:30pm). The format for these days is different than in the past. There will be no sign-up list on these days, but we will meet on a first come, first serve basis. Interviews will be kept short (unless there is no one waiting)  5-7 minutes. I will be available on these two days from 1:30-2:30. I look forward to meeting with all of you during this time. If you are unable to come during those times, please email or phone me to set up a time that works for you. Please be assured that I am EAGER to meet with you as often as needed during the school year. Regardless of teacher job action, I am working hard to teach your child and to maintain open communication with parents. Please note that I will be providing you with Progress Reports at various times throughout the year (similar to report cards).

There are new Sight Words(5 words) in your child's sight word folder which should be in their bag please follow the instructions and have your child print out the words.  Please let me know if your child does not have the words.  Please remember that picture day is October 7th. 
Please remember to read all newsletters that are sent home.

Please take the time to work with your child on the sight words.
