Isobel Lake Field Trip
On Wednesday, June 13th, we will be going to Isobel Lake by bus with the Grade 1’s from Mrs. Sarrasin’s class. Please note that the field trip will be a full day (9:00-2:30) trip. We will be hiking, exploring the creatures in Isobel Lake, studying
trees/plants, doing crafts and writing a journal during the day.
FOOD: Please provide your child with a large healthy snack, A LUNCH AND A
BOTTLE OF WATER for that day. All of these items should be in a
backpack that your child will carry throughout the day.
BACKPACKS: Please remember that your child will be carrying his/her backpack
all day. Try to pack as lightly as possible (sandwiches are much easier to
carry than apples and oranges).
CLOTHING: Also, I am asking parents to ensure that their child is appropriately
dressed for this field trip, including running shoes, hat, no dresses/skirts,
pants (to protect legs from scratches), and a coat/pullover. It is often
cooler at Isobel Lake than it is in Kamloops (much higher elevation). We
are going rain or shine, so please consider the weather that morning when
your child is getting dressed. Please apply and send extra sunscreen
(small bottle).
PARENT HELPERS: Parents are encouraged to join us on the bus. Due to the
high risk environment and the nature of this trip, preschoolers are NOT
allowed to accompany us on this trip. Parents who come on the trip will
need to be able to hike through the bush (please dress accordingly).
If there are not enough seats on the bus PARENT HELPERS can also car pool up to Isobel Lake.
