In Science we will be presenting our habitat project to parents on December 21st...this will be the first presentation (8:45 am) for students so please mark it down on your calendar. Reading log sheets are out so remember students can read all kinds of books (can be information books as long as they can read it!). Parents please make sure your child records the readings.
Winter Concert-Students are to dress in a "Hawaiian" theme-such as Hawaiian shirt and pants for boys and girls could wear a dress with a grass skirt...with flip flops or sandals for footwear.
A Reminder about Show & Tell
Show & Tell this week students are encouraged to bring one "mystery" item to share. Classmates will attempt to guess what the hidden item is by asking questions. Show and Tell items are encouraged to be "made" things, "science" things, "found" things or things related to the theme being studied at the time (TOYS ARE NOT ALLOWED). Pictures are a great way of sharing an event, family member or a pet (due to allergies NO real pets will be allowed in class). If your child is sick for his Show& Tell day, he/she will get to make up his missed day as soon as he/she returns to school. If your child forgets their Show& Tell day, he/she will be encouraged to share (Tell) about something as part of his turn. Children who forget will not be given the opportunity to "make up" Show & Tell.
Library Day is on Wednesdays so bring in library books by Tuesday or Wednesday morning! Once again please make sure your child has indoor shoes to wear in the classroom. Boots are not allowed in the classroom.
