We are reaching the halfway mark...if you were wondering....we are halfway through the school year at the end of January.  Time sure goes by when your having fun!
          
    A reminder that we do have snowshoeing and cross country permission slip out. Please get those in as soon as possible.  If you would like to volunteer please note we can only bring 2 parent volunteers.  I need students shoe size and height.    
    This week we have spelling...please check and make sure your son/daughter are bringing the spelling work back by Friday.  Please sign the spelling quiz if your child got a low result (4 or less) & return the quiz back to me. Thank you.
Science we are working on Matter unit and Social Studies we will continue with indigenous group research.

 As we continue to steamroll through January it seems as though winter temperatures will be mild so this could mean more snow or a meltdown of the snow!  In either case February is just around the corner!  This week will include continuing with Matter in Science and in Social Studies we will continue with researching indigenous  Peoples.  Math will see us continue working on measurement unit and our next unit will be multiplication.    
    In Language Arts we will continue with short stories and continue developing comprehension skills.  Please continue to do the Reading at home and recording what your child is reading in the reading log sheet.  There will be a new spelling unit this week. 
  
Library Days are Fridays so please have your child return books on Thursday or Friday morning.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the mild weather!  This week we will have a new spelling unit. In math we are working our measurement unit.  In Science, we  will continue with Matter unit.    In Social Studies we are learning about different types of First Nations groups....eventually students will pick a group and do a research project on that culture. 

   I would like students to wear indoor shoes at school and boots out at the breaks.  Please make sure your son/daughter are wearing appropriate clothing for the weather!  Your child's locker must not be full of other clothes so if you have time please make sure your child takes home the extra clothes in their locker.

 Complementary Tickets for the Blazer game on Saturday (January 17th) will go out on Monday. 
   Reminder
Spelling is due on Fridays so please make sure your child has completed the work and in the agenda book.  I still have a few students who are not handing in the work on time.

Welcome to 2026!
    I hope everyone had a great break and enjoyed their time with family and friends over the winter break.  Although its nice to have time to relax we must now get back into our routines and schedules... so this week we will begin with a new spelling unit and continue with our reading for the month of January (Reading logs will go out on Monday).   
    In math we will begin two units, the money unit and the measurement unit and we will keep up with our multiplication skills.  In Science we will be learning about Matter.  Social Studies we are studying our indigenous groups...If you have any questions or concerns about your child progress please don't hesitate contact me by either e-mail ([email protected]) or phone the school and we can arrange a time to meet.
