This week will be another short busy week for students as we roll into April. Students are starting fraction unit and in Social Studies students are learning about the Shuswap Peoples as well as investigating their own culture and research their family tree.
There will be no spelling unit this week.
In Science we are starting with two different units this term....Matter
In Language Arts students are learning about different types of poems (such as cinquain, diamante, to name a couple) this should be a exciting week!
April 5th- Sucwentwecw assembly
Show & Tell
This month’s theme is SCIENCE. On their day, students are encouraged to bring one “mystery” science item to share. Classmates will attempt to guess what the hidden item is by asking questions. Students can bring an item (like a crystal or a wasp nest) or can bring a picture of something science related that they have research (only a few details please). TOYS ARE NOT ALLOWED. If your child is sick for his/her Show&Tell day, he/she will get to make up his/her missed day as soon as he/she returns to school. If your child forgets his/her Show&Tell day, he/she will be encouraged to share (Tell) about something as part of his turn. Children who forget will not be given the opportunity to “make up” Show&Tell.
